Sodium bisulfite solution may be used for the production of SO3- radicals, by reaction with OH in irradiated aqueous solutions containing N2O. Chemistry of these radicals has been investigated by pulse radiolysis with kinetic spectrophotometry.
General description
Quantitative reaction of sodium bisulphite with uracil and cytosine at pH 6 has been investigated. Sodium bisulfite solution can be used in isolating carbonyl compounds like aldehydes, via derivatization, followed by solvent extraction.
